Brownie, age 6, models a Chanel handbag ($5,300). As sweet as her name, Brownie spent the first part of her life chained up outside but now loves her crate and is house-trained. She is available for adoption through Friends for Life.

Ezra helps show off the Grip watch ($1,450) by Gucci. Ezra was born in March of this year, and his current mission in life is to find the most direct path to a lap for petting! He is available for adoption through Friends for Life.

Sampson wears a Michael Kors bucket hat ($88). He was used as a bait dog and left in a ditch, but Blue River Pet Rescue nursed him back to health. Available for adoption, he loves other dogs and kids!

Jones, age 6, models the One Stud Nappa handbag ($3,900) by Valentino. Found limp and unresponsive, Jones bounced back and is ready to bounce into your life. He is available for adoption through Friends for Life.

Hank admires Versace ‘La Medusa’ handbags (small $1,350, medium $2,525). Emaciated when he was rescued in April, Hank is now healthy, happy and available for adoption through Blue River Pet Rescue.

'Is that how you treat your house guest'

ARTIST KAIMA MARIE’S solo exhibit For the record (which opens today at Art Is Bond) invites the viewer into a multiverse of beloved Houston landmarks, presented in dizzying Cubist perspectives. There are ornate interior spaces filled with paintings, books and records — all stuff we use to document and preserve personal, family and collective histories; and human figures, including members of Marie’s family, whose presence adds yet another quizzical layer to these already densely packed works. This isn’t art you look at for 15-30 seconds before moving on to the next piece; there’s a real pleasure in being pulled into these large-scale photo collages, which Marie describes as “puzzles without a reference image.”
