MORE THAN 300 fashion-forward Houstonians excitedly gathered for a seasonal and sartorial tradition, the Spirit of Spring luncheon benefiting the Children's Assessment Center. The 22nd annual event was chaired by Lily Schnitzer with honorary chair Ursaline Hamilton, and was held at the Royal Sonesta.

Special guest Kaitlyn Urenda-Culpepper spoke to the crowd about her experience as a child sexual-abuse survivor, and how ongoing activism by CAC and others on behalf of survivors is being addressed in public policies. The fashion show followed, during which summer and fall looks from Elizabeth Anthony took to the runway. The featured designer was Alice Temperley of Temperley London, whose textured and feminine looks wowed the audience.

A handful of lucky guests ventured to the nearby boutique for a post-event Champagne reception and meet-and-greet with the designer, who brought with her a collection of one-of-a-kind pieces from "Alice's Archives." She also spoke about the Fall 2022 collection, which is inspired by the Wild West — think cowboys and country singers — but still features the classic silhouettes for which Temperley is known.

THE CLUES ARE there from the start: The Jackson Hole airport entrance is marked with an iconic arch made of elk antlers. The airport-transfer driver has binoculars perched on his dash. And the famously jagged Tetons immediately beckon on the picturesque drive to the lodge.
