Snow Day!

From splash pads to popsicles, Houstonians have no shortage of favorite ways to cool off on these hot summer days. One that should go to the top of your list? The new shaved-ice stand at Bebidas, Houston’s only snowball purveyor inside the Loop.

The menu boasts slightly fancified and trendy versions of traditional snow cones, with Cali-sourced organic syrups — watermelon, lavender, chocolate-peanut-butter — and “snowcap” toppings of condensed milk or chamoy. Houston-based Malk Organics also supplies milk-alternative floaters, including cashew and maple-pecan milks.

Adding to the charm is how customers order — at a walk-up window near the colorful, canopied garden area. And with prices starting at $3.50, Bebidas’ snowballs are one hot way to chill out this summer.
