Intrigued by the legacy of Vichy's wellness traditions, serial entrepreneur and spa visionary LeBrina Jackson founded and aptly named her very first spa Pure Vichy, knowing she wanted to incorporate the healing powers of water into her offerings. “I read years ago that in Latin SPA stands for ‘solus per aqua’ or ‘health by water.’ Water has always held almost sacred space when it comes to healing,” explains LeBrina. “Then after experiencing the healing power of natural geothermal hot springs around the world as well as visiting Vichy, France, I realized I always felt like I pushed a hard reset button on my personal renewal. It became clear that if I wanted to offer authentic wellness therapies in any spa I would create, it was essential to incorporate water-based treatments into the service menu."

“Even though your brain works differently, it still lights up and is beautiful to watch, a wonderful machine you have. It just means you have to navigate and pivot a little differently,” says Sudhoff, who collaborated with doctors to collect data for the multisensory installation. She colorfully depicts the intersection of art and science in The Reading Brain, which generates a real-time, changing visualization of brain activity produced by dyslexic children reading.
The Reading Brain was acquired by The Health Museum though its Healing Arts Initiative, and is now a permanent fixture. For her part, Sudhoff is a multidisciplinary artist whose work frequently questions societal norms.

More than 250 festively clad guests were welcomed into the North Boulevard home of Richard Holt. A bountiful buffet and Christmas cocktails awaited, and partygoers admired the sparkling trees and holiday décor while raising money for The Jackson Hicks Endowed Fund for the Awareness, Prevention, and Treatment of HIV/AIDS at Legacy.
