Oscar Season

Autumn in Houston always brings a return to elegance. But never more so than this fall, as the MFAH readies its show celebrating Oscar de la Renta. The season’s new dresses, including those from the late master designer’s own house, channel his spirit, with touches of refined sensuality, swaths of vibrant color and, most of all, odes to the garden.

WITH AN AESTHETIC that reads as something between stained-glass and graffiti, Daniel Anguilu is arguably one of the best-known street artists in Houston. The vibrant, abstracted and large-scale pieces often feature motifs inspired by his Mexican heritage, and also address injustice and political issues like immigration.
