Nike Steps Into CityCentre with High-Tech New Storefront

NIKE HAS EXPANDED its retail footprint with the recent opening of Nike by CityCentre. Expect to shop popular footwear styles such as Air Force 1s, Air Max 90s, retro Jordan kicks and Jordan apparel for both men and women. Nike says Houston is one of its top markets in the United States with a high demand for Jordan products in particular.

The 5,300-square-foot, digitally enabled store features products specially tailored to the Houston community through consumer insights. Female shoppers will appreciate the selection of performance bras and leggings, plus complimentary personal-shopping services. And everyone can connect directly with employees (called “store athletes”) using Swoosh Text, a messaging service that allows for a review of available inventory and personalized product recommendations.

Using the Nike App, customers can purchase online and pick up in-store or via curbside pickup, and can also return digital orders to the physical store. Separately, shoppers can take advantage of the SNKRS PASS on the Nike SNKRS App, which uses GPS location to determine if a nearby Nike storefront has their preferred style available in their size.

Reflecting Nike’s commitment to hiring locals, more than 50 percent of the store athletes are made up of Houston-proper residents with the remainder of the team hailing from neighboring westside communities, a press release states.
