AS WE EMERGE from our frozen bunkers and start thinking about end-of-year celebrations, you might be wondering, where’s the party? Here are a dozen or so delicious suggestions for an evening out on the town — reservations highly recommended. Goodbye 2022, hello 2023!


A'Bouzy

This bubble-fueled River Oaks haunt will be flowing with Champagne on New Year’s Eve. Guests dining in have the option to saber their own bottle (pre-ordering required) along with the regular menu of modern French fare. Call to reserve your spot: 713.722.6899.

Doris Metropolitan

Steak out this luxe spot for dinner starting at 5 pm — think caviar, artichoke flower salad, and a porterhouse for two — followed by a party until 12:30am. Expect a complimentary Champagne toast, festive decorations, party favors, DJ music and a midnight balloon drop.

Emilia's Havana

Hit the festive party at Ben Berg's new speakeasy from 9:30pm-2am — rock out with live music, party favors and a midnight Champagne toast. There is a $150 per person entertainment fee plus $100 per person minimum; a midnight Champagne toast and masquerade party favors are included. Details here.

Four Seasons Hotel

The beautifully decorated downtown hotel keeps it posh for NYE. Kick things off upstairs with an early evening party at Bandista speakeasy, or hit Bayou & Bottle downstairs, where things get popping at 9pm.

Houston Museum of Natural Science

Where else can you toast under the dinosaurs? Ring in the new year with HMNS! Featuring live music, DJs, food trucks and cash bars, this party is one you won’t want to miss. 8pm – 1am. Tickets are on sale now.

Indulgent ingredients like truffles, uni and lobster take the spotlight at this stunning tasting-menu-only destination. Its six-course menu is on offer at 6pm and 7pm ($225 per person), plus a nine-course option at 8pm and 9pm ($295 per person). Optionally, reserve a spot in the modern lounge for the caviar and Champagne experience ($150).

For fine rib-sticking fare, this hot Italian chophouse will close the year with a four-course menu ($110 per person). Choose from dishes including housemade pastas, charcuterie, and juicy grilled steaks. Live music until 1am.

Nobu

This contemporary Japanese spot in the Galleria is ready with a special New Year’s omakase menu. For $200 per person, guests can sup on lobster ceviche sorbet, a sashimi tasting, a chef’s sushi selection, and more. Opens at 5pm.

Tony's

Trattoria Sofia

Start early on New Year's Eve with a festive brunch, or enjoy an evening of Italian food (regular dinner menu on offer), drinks, party favors and live music. Ring in 2023 in true New York City style at a black-tie affair with live music, dinner, and New Year's Eve-inspired specials. The sleek and still-new sister to Uchi is rolling out a unique omakase menu from Dec. 30 to Jan. 1. Anticipate such delicacies as grilled lobster, lamb loin, caviar service and warm oysters.

You cannot go wrong with the posh Museum District hotel’s NYE 2023 package. It includes overnight accommodations, complimentary valet parking for one vehicle, entry to the NYE party and New Year's Day brunch. The on-site party also includes live music, cocktail pop-ups, passed appetizers, and a midnight champagne toast. The brunch features an elaborate ballroom buffet, mimosa bar and bloody Mary bar.
