OMG Festival Celebrating ‘Millennial Culture’ Comes to Stages Next Month

IT MAY JUST be the event you didn't even know you needed. A rep for Stages says the theater company will next month present a "fun-filled … homage to millennial culture." It's called the OMG Festival.


LOL? IKR!

At the Sept. 10-12 fest, highlighting presentations of Shakespeare-inspired movies beloved by the millennial generation, a bad sonnet competition, food trucks and a photo booth will also be on offer. There will also be lawn games including cornhole and giant versions of Connect Four and Jenga.

Featured films are 10 Things I Hate About You, starring Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles, and Deliver Us from Evawith LL Cool J and Gabrielle Union. Both are modern spins on The Taming of the Shrew. The Lion King will also be screened, to provide a more family-friendly moviel

The fun will all take place on The Brown Foundation Lawn at The Gordy, the company's still-new theater production complex in Montrose near Allen Parkway.
