Luxe RV Resort Opens Near NRG Just in Time for Rodeo Season

NOW OPEN IN Southwest Houston off Almeda Road is Jetstream RV Resort, a 165-space Class A recreational vehicle community.

The property spans 15 acres and includes amenities like a heated swimming pool, expansive clubhouse and lounge, outdoor kitchen and beer garden. For families, there’s an arcade room, playground, dog wash and shuffleboard courts, plus on-site laundry.

The location is between Downtown and the Med Center, and offers easy access to 288, the Beltway and 610. Just a few miles from NRG Park, Jetstream promises to be a popular option for those coming into town for the Rodeo, which just announced its 2023 musician lineup. (Highlights include mainstays like Chris Stapleton, Jason Aldean, Zac Brown Band, Cody Johnson, Brad Pailsey and Luke Bryan, plus Houston fave Bun B and old-school group New Kids on the Block.)

“Jetstream at The Med Center will provide an attractive alternative to hotel living for those who plan to spend a significant amount of time in Houston, whether as employees in the downtown area, as sightseers or both,” said Julie Davis, a VP of CityStreet Residential, which developed Jetstream, in a release. “It’s an inviting place they can go home to and enjoy in the evenings and on weekends, where their families can join them, and they can get to know their neighbors. We’re excited about the debut of this property and the successes of our other RV resorts.” CSRP operates Jetstream communities in Wharton, Waller, Pearland and Brownsville.

Alisha Pattillo

THOUGH NOW BASED in Fayetteville, Ark., saxophonist and former Houstonian Alisha Pattillo will always be connected to H-Town and its jazz community. On her brand new album Chromazone, Pattillo pays tribute to that connection with a program of alternately groovy, mellow, and scorching tunes pulled from her record collection, many recognizable to even the most casual jazz fan, and performed by some of the finest musicians in the city. “I formed great friendships with world-class musicians when I lived in Houston,” says Pattillo, who often returns to the city on weekends to play high-end private events with Avondale Entertainment. “It’s a big city, with a vast amount of talent.”
