AS HOLIDAY SHOPPING concludes for many, a plethora of stylish new shops are gearing up for an exciting 2022.

Contemporary womenswear boutique and Instagram sensation Frock Shop (9135 Katy Fwy, Suite 104) opened the doors to its new showroom in a Memorial-area mixed-use center on I-10. Owner Selina Stanford’s larger and well thought-out space — filled with sought-after brands like Ganni, LoveShackFancy, Sam Edelman and Houston-based Hunter Bell — neighbors the newly opened jewelry shop Golden Thread.

Meanwhile, in the Galleria, Reese Witherspoon’s fashion and lifestyle brand Draper James (Houston Galleria, Level 1, between Macy’s and Nordstrom) has opened a 2,000-square-foot storefront, with similar design features as the flagship store in Nashville. This marks the first Texas outpost for the Southern-tinged brand.

California-based milliner Teressa Foglia is opening her first flagship Texas boutique in River Oaks District at the end of this month. The small but stylish shop is filled with unique furniture, decor and artwork, sourced from Round Top by her creative director Ty Hays. Expect to shop signature Teressa Foglia hats with on-site customization options.

Boasting last-minute stocking stuffers, Yeti, the brand known for its sturdy coolers, coffee mugs and ramblers, is now open in Highland Village (4048 Westheimer Rd). The 3,400-square-foot space features a full product assortment, customized gear, a Yeti ice machine and the Yeti Garage, where shoppers can customize their Tundra Hard Coolers.

And over in the Heights, M-K-T is adding to its ever-growing roster of stores. Treadwell (600 N. Shepherd Dr., Building 4) offers a communal feel of the barbershop combined with the privacy and serenity of a spa. Services include professional haircuts, IV drip therapy, cryotherapy and more. In the same building, Venetian Nail Spa (600 N. Shepherd Dr., Building 4) just unveiled its elevated wellness experience, outfitted with leading technology, a minimalist aesthetic, and environmentally-friendly products.

LONGTIME HOUSTON FOODIES likely remember Mi Luna as a Rice Village mainstay, serving late-night tapas and wine on University Blvd. for years. Now, the original owner has plans to revive the Spanish restaurant, this time in the Montrose Collective development on the Westheimer Curve.
