Houston’s Most Expensive Homes Sold in March

5353 Holly Springs

PER THE YEAR'S trend, home prices were up and the number of active listings was way, way down (by 55 percent, compared to this time last year!) in March. And houses in the luxury sector — from regal River Oaks mansions to beautiful new builds in Memorial — are flying off the market as fast as ever. Here are the 10 most expensive homes sold last month in and around Houston.

721 Ourlane Circle

721 OURLANE CIRCLE With eight bedrooms and garage space for 12 cars, it's safe to say there's plenty of room at this 12,000-square-foot estate in Memorial, which took less than two weeks to sell. Built in 2020, the French-inspired manor, listed for just under $10 mil, features a showplace of a main kitchen, along with a catering kitchen and a summer kitchen. Also find a gym, game room and thousand-bottle wine cellar. The new owners never need to leave!

3812 Willowick

3812 WILLOWICK It took just under a year to find the perfect buyer for this entertainers'-dream home in River Oaks, listed for $8 mil. Situated on a wooded acre, the six-bedroom house boasts a home theatre, paneled library, formal living and dining areas and a third-floor guest suite.

701 Saddlewood Lane

701 SADDLEWOOD LANE Another new build in Memorial, this 10,000-square-foot manse was listed for $7.25 million, complete with two owner's suites, two utility rooms, three bars, four staircases — and a made-for-her vanity area with a champagne bar. Plus: A resort-worthy pool, and walls literally designed to showcase art? Yes, please.

5353 Holly Springs

5353 HOLLY SPRINGS Newly completed by Iraj Taghi Custom Homes, this contemporary Tanglewood home boasts eight bedrooms (and a matching number of garages!). Listed for $6.5 mil, it sold in under two months — perhaps due to its unique entrance, or maybe because of the master bathroom that appears plucked straight out of a five-star spa.

3627 Inwood Drive

3627 INWOOD DRIVE Built in 1946 and recently extensively remodeled, this home on historic Inwood Drive was listed for $6 million. Inside, a mix of traditional architecture and contemporary amenities — like three sets of black metal French doors opening up to the beautiful pool area — creates an immediate feeling of "welcome home."

3736 Del Monte Drive

3736 DEL MONTE DRIVE Mirador Builders recently completed this five-bedroom, 7,500-square-foot home on Del Monte in the heart of River Oaks. Inside, stunning attention to detail reflects the property's designation as Milieu Magazine's Designer Showcase home last year. The primary suite includes a fireplace, coffee bar and his-and-hers bathrooms and closets. Even the laundry area is covetable!

3640 Inwood Drive

3640 INWOOD DRIVE Another home scooped up off Inwood Drive in March, this unique 9,000-square-foot property — designed by Hiram Salisbury in 1939 and completely remodeled in 2009 — was on the market for just 26 days.

3909 DEL MONTE And another one on Del Monte: A beautiful lot on the coveted street features a 1948-built home "ready to be customized" — or even torn down. Time will tell what the new owners, who snagged it just eight days after it was listed for $5.5 mil, will opt to do.

3330 CHEVY CHASE DRIVE This gorgeous Georgian red-brick manse down the street from River Oaks' Sleepy Hollow Park was on the market for around four months, listed for $5 mil. It comes with a gym, elevator and theater room, naturally, and its 10,000 square feet also touts six bedrooms and 11 bathrooms.

219 GLENWOOD DRIVE Located just a few blocks from Memorial Park, this stunning contemporary home was completed late last year, and boasts a cantilevered infinity pool and eye-catching design details that lend it both immense curb appeal and stylish livability. It was listed for $5 million, and sold in about four months.
