The Conservatory in River Oaks District

FALL IS HERE! Spend one of these gloriously cool mornings shopping at stores in outdoor mixed-use developments like River Oaks District, Rice Village and Montrose Collective, who have welcomed numerous retailers and pop-ups just in time for holiday shopping.


Anea Hill

River Oaks District will host Bachelor alum and blogger AshLee Frazier in a three-month shopping experience showcasing her brand ANEA HILL. Located next to La Vie Style House, the pop-up will tout luxury sunglasses, clothing and hats through the end of 2022. Up to 12 events are slated to take place in the space, kicking off with the SanDJ & Sunnies Party on Friday, Oct. 7 from 1-4 pm, featuring cocktails, shopping and live music courtesy of DJ Sandy.

Buck Mason

Los Angeles-based online apparel brand Buck Mason opened its first Houston store at 906 Westheimer in Montrose Collective. The store includes men’s and women’s apparel, including t-shirts, sweats, cashmere sweaters and denim. Founded in 2013 by Sasha Koehn and Erik Allen, the brand focuses on consistency in fit, fabric and quality combined with creating a useful and effortless wardrobe.

The Conservatory

Texas retail legend Brian Bolke opened The Conservatory’s fourth location, this one in the luxurious River Oaks District. The 3,300-square-foot, gallery-like space previously home to Forty Five Ten at 4444 Westheimer Road, F100. Expect to shop women and men’s clothing and accessories, beauty, wellness, fragrances and home decor. The Conservatory brings brands exclusive to the Houston gallery, including Gabriela Hearst, Maison Margiela, Sidney Garber, Metier, ATP, Perfumer H and more.

Frances Valentine

Also in River Oaks District: Sip and shop with influencers and Frances Valentine Sunday, Oct. 9, from 2-5 pm. Enjoy light bites and champagne while shopping the colorful new fall collection. A portion of proceeds will be donated to Influencers Collective, a nonprofit organization assisting young women entering the workforce or higher education.

Iris Gifts and Decor

Located at The Shops at Memorial City, IRIS Gifts and Decor is the newest go-to gift shop for bridal showers, birthday parties, baby showers, graduation and just-because occasions. Expect to freshen up your tablescape each season with hand-blown glassware or shop their selection of seasonal decor.

Kendra Scott

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Kendra Scott has launched its annual limited-edition Breast Cancer Awareness collection benefiting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). Each year, the brand donates 20 percent of proceeds from the collection to help fund its research grant through BCRF and its goal to find a treatment for metastatic (stage IV) breast cancer.

Mary Patton

Mary Patton, a local interior designer, recently opened her first brick-and-mortar design studio in Rice Village at 2439 Bissonnet Street. The 2,828-square-foot-space was strategically styled in her whimsical and sophisticated aesthetic with various vintage design vignettes. The studio will sell items from Patton’s e-commerce store, brand collaborations with local artisans, and one-of-a-kind redesigned vintage furniture; areas for one-on-one design meetings with clients can be reserved by appointment.

The first trunk show is this Friday, Oct. 7, from 11am-4pm with Helenita Home, which is not available anywhere else in Houston. Guests can shop new colorways of ceramic plates, pitchers, bowls and napkin rings alongside Mary Patton and Helenita Home founder, Helen Hemingway McLaughlin.

Nanos

Rice Village has also welcomed children’s clothing brand Nanos, at 2534 Amherst St. Originally based in Spain, the line is known for its premium materials with natural colors and engaging designs. The comfortable children’s clothing is best for newborns and little ones through mid-teens.

Oak + Sparrow

In the Heights, Oak + Sparrow is celebrating its one-year anniversary Saturday, Oct. 8, at 1051 Heights Blvd., Suite 130. Owner Elizabeth Berg is inviting Houstonians to shop eco-friendly clothing and accessories.

Paloma and Co.

Paloma and Co. soon moves to 2509 River Oaks Blvd. The curated home-decor shop from beloved local designer Paloma Contreras will soon be neighbors with Sid Mashburn, J.Landa Jewelry, Itsy Bitsy Boutique and à bientôt.

Shaftel Diamonds

Family-owned and operated luxury jewelry retailer Shaftel Diamonds has launched a collaborative collection with Sky High for Kids, a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives of those fighting pediatric cancer and other life-threatening conditions. The release includes blue and orange enamel pieces, blue and orange sapphire and diamond halo studs — go Astros! — and diamond studs shaped like moons, stars, butterflies and wings. Prices range from $295 to $2,650. Shaftel Diamonds is donating 20 percent of the sales from the line and 40 percent of sales from their signature Treasure Candles, which each melt down to reveal a hidden gemstone, to Sky High for Kids.

Therabody

Wellness tech company Therabody opened a Reset location in The Galleria, designed to deliver a spectrum of mind-body health and wellness services. Reset provides access to premium technologies and trained experts to guide the client to achieve their desired outcome — like feeling energized before a workout, renewed after strenuous activity, or soothed and ready for sleep. Some of Reset’s unique services include a full-body Theragun massage and stretch, PowerDot electrical stimulation, IV hydration, sound therapy and more. Services range from 30 to 60 minutes, and monthly memberships range from $150-$500, with customizable packages; a la carte services starting at $35 per session.

Veronica Beard

Lily Schnitzer and Lexi Sakowitz Marek invite Houstonians to Veronica Beard in River Oaks District this Friday, Oct. 7, from 6-8 pm to shop for a cause. Veronica Beard will donate 10 percent of all event proceeds to The Children’s Assessment Center.

Vuori

SoCal-founded activewear brand Vuori opened its doors to its first Houston outpost in Rice Village (5515 Kelvin, Suite 90). The eco-conscious brand makes premium performance apparel inspired by the active coastal California lifestyle — an integration of fitness, surf, sport and art.
