The brand has been a staple of Houston’s most dapper dudes for decades, so it’s no surprise that Hamilton Shirts’ new women’s line is pinstripe-perfect. Fourth-generation owner Kelly Hamilton, along with her brother David, carries the clothier’s expert attention to detail — honed over the last 135 years in the form of bespoke men’s button-downs, hand-cut and -sewn in the Hamilton workshop on Richmond — into women’s closets. The new line includes, of course, a classic button-down, in addition to a tunic and a half-tuck-friendly “boyfriend” fit. Gals can choose among fabrics specially selected for them, or pick from the plethora of options for guys. Each women’s shirt is customizable by bust size, darting, button placement and monogramming, plus options for collars, cuffs and pockets. “Those are the little details that can take something from being nice to being really special,” says Hamilton.
